One of the key components of making wonderful graphics is iterating based on feedback, and that's something I absolutely love to do!
On the first go-around this "Wipeout" text was super rough, mainly created as a placeholder before I started work on the final assets. Then it was redesigned into what was intended to be the final product, about something about it felt wrong! I got feedback that aside from the snowflake it was unclear how the wipeout and "being cold" were connected.
So, I designed to move the underline on top like a layer of snow, falling down through the cracks and filling the space! I enjoyed this take so much that it ended up becoming a part of the official freeze tag logo, further emphasizing the leitmotif of falling snow throughout the entire project.
I've spent a long time creating and working with YouTube content creators and have learned the ins-and-outs of human psychology with graphic design! It's important not only to make an image that looks good, but an image that gets your viewer looking in the correct place and feeling the correct emotions as fast as possible.
I take this psychological approach to my software development as well, making sure that everything is carefully crafted with the way different players will react in mind.
My work isn't only limited to the 2D space! Whether it be mapping drawings onto 3D objects, rendering full scenes, designing mockups, or anything else, I'm happy to do it. After all, every 3D scene gets mapped onto a 2D screen, which means as long as you can make the camera believe something it's a flawless illusion.
These graphic design skills aren't only limited to the digital space either. Making clever use of real-world photography is a massive passion of mine, and really helps me practice my composition skills!
